The Fritz Decontroller is best known for producing stability-challenged illustrative looks & gritty granulated low fidelity video effects.  It has a very bold aesthetic and covers a vast expanse of visual territory.  A number of looks strongly resemble the Fairlight CVI or the Amiga 2500’s solarize and chroma effects (with a little extra dash of pixel rot).  It is capable of posterize effects, weird color inversions, hyper neon goodness, tracer effects, color/static fill effects & a varying degrees of edge feedback (ringing).  Each knob effect stands on it’s own, but upon combining any of the sixteen effects knobs you get a much wider range of broken looks.  While the top 12 knobs tap into the digital color processing the bottom 4 knobs produce various unique edge feedback/ringing fx.  One produces a soft ghost layer extrusion effect that softens any of the top knobs.  The other three allow you to mold and stack various layers of edge feedback to be used in combination with the above knobs.

I’ve been working with this circuit since 2011 and doing up the Fritz Decontroller as a stand alone glitch video effects processor since 2013.  It has gone through a number of layout revisions and effects revisions.  I enjoy working with this circuit and I’m happy with the effects I’ve settled upon in the 2018.  Nothing else in the BPMC arsenal quite does what the Fritz Decontroller does and for that I’m always happy to return to it.
